Dear boys,

I hope to do a closure since a recent joke about other pupils' mothers has went viral around the class.

I cannot comprehend why some of you had found the joke amusing, especially when it is about a person who is very dear to you.

Someone who has to go through nine months of hardship, with you in her womb and who has brought you into this world. The hardships did not stop after that; in fact it is the beginning of everything. She had to wake up in the midst of countless nights to ensure that you had been properly fed when you were younger, she takes care of your well-being, worries for you constantly day and night. The list of things she has done for you is endless...For all the sacrifices she has made for you, are you aware about them?

Honestly, do mothers deserve to be made fun of?

Why was the joke made in reference to your classmates' mothers?
Hmm, why wasn't the joke made in reference to your own mother instead?
Would it still be hilarious in the second scenario?

For those who played along when the joke was shared with you and had a good laugh about it, perhaps it might not have been funny anymore if the joke has been directed at your own mother.

If the joke has been directed at your mother, and you are still tickled by it, something is really not quite right here. Is it an indication that you do not appreciate and love your mum for everything she has done for you?

However, this is something only you will have an answer to it.

The recent incidents in class has clearly demonstrated how insensitive some of you can be.
It has also shown how powerful words are.
And how destructive they can be as well.

From now on, I truly hope that all of you will think carefully first before you act or say anything.
